Our Mission

The goal of Anchor Missionary & Pastor’s Retreat is to provide a place to minister to pastors, missionaries, youth leaders, and others in Christian service - a place where we can accommodate people in a quiet, scenic retreat. Our primary location is a lakefront setting for times of personal restoration. We maintain an open door and provide hospitality for those the Lord sends our way.
UPDATE: At Anchor Missionary & Pastors Retreat, our goal is to be a blessing to those in the ministry. Recently we became the beneficiaries (for Anchor Ministries use) of THREE Cabins in Branson proper & once again we can accommodate families & other larger gatherings! Our Policy: To never say "no" to any pastor or missionary family in need. If we can be of any assistance to you, please contact us today!
In 2023 Linda & I celebrated TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS of "doing" this ministry! It's so hard to believe - to think we were just into our 50s when we arrived.
We also provide "LIFE COACHING" for those who take “too long” in getting to us. Many pastors of small urban churches do not have the opportunity or means to take breaks from urban stresses. Anchor Ministries provides a quiet restful place for church workers. The change of pace and responsibilities can help individuals gain a fresh perspective on their calling and experience personal spiritual renewal.

About
Anchor retreat is located just 20 minutes outside of beautiful Branson Missouri. Anchor sits at the edge of Table Rock Lake, where some of the best fishing and lake cruising that you have ever seen. Dr. HL Goodman and his wonderful wife Linda, have created the ultimate getaway for Pastors and Missionaries to relax, receive counseling and just getaway from it all for a few days.
The Goal Of Anchor Ministries ...
is to keep the recommended contribution to a minimum. We do not want to make adjustments with our seasonal situation. One of the ways we wish to do this is to have a number of churches supporting us on a monthly basis. Until this accomplished, we must request a reasonable (yet economical) contribution for the use of the Anchor LOFT.
Ministry situation:
If we’re having people visit who are in need of restoration, we have a suggested contribution that is based upon your ability,
contact us and we will discuss it with you.
We are here to minister to you and your family. We can do this through rest and relaxation, counseling, life coaching or whatever your needs may be.

LIFE COACHING
Sometimes people come in to contact with Anchor, just for some Life Coaching. Maybe they just need encouragement in a certain area of their lives, this is where Life Coaching comes into practice,
Ministry Needs:
Pastors who have stayed with us have asked that we “Please Post Costs” - therefore we figured our per day costs for the year. To cover our costs for the LOFT & "Cabins" we need a Minimum of $75.00 per day. This figures in the “down time” that we experience during Jan. - March when Branson is “closed” and it’s not lake time."
Recommended Contributions For "Ministry Servants":
Suggested donations per day (to be considered on an individual basis).

ANCHOR LOFT = Lofty Peace
It’s blue skies and cotton candy clouds of the mind, FULLY FUURNISHED.
Over the past several years, since the Goodmans have been back in the U.S. they have returned to Australia for ministry there. This takes place during our winter when our Retreat Ministry is in recess.
ANNUAL WEEK AT ANCHOR RETREAT:
Any Church (or individual) who supports this ministry at a minimum of $50.00 per month, will be able to use the Loft (for couple) for a full week for themselves or a missionary couple each year.
Also, a Church or individual who supports this ministry for less than $50. per month will receive a week of "R & R" for a 'Love Offering'."
Once we have enough financial support coming in on a monthly basis (monthly support) we will reduce the recommended contribution to a minimal amount.
